A supervised learning environment for grades 1 – 12 in the Horseheads School District attending classes remotely due to COVID 19. 

Parents must provide transportation, lunch, water bottle and a learning device with charging cables (laptop, tablet, etc.) and headphones.

  1. This learning pod will have a limited number of spaces for any student in grades 1-12 in the Horseheads School District.

 

  1. The learning pod will be located at Maranatha Bible Chapel, 774 Sing Sing Road, Horseheads. There is no public access to this site.

 

  1. It will be open from 7:30 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. on weekdays.
 
  1. Child care will NOT be available before or after the daily session.

 

  1. Families must commit to attending through December 2020. The pod will continue even if Horseheads School District switches to fully online learning. We will follow Horseheads School District calendar and weather related scheduling.

 

  1. A donation to Maranatha Bible Chapel would be appropriate and appreciated.

 

  1. Maranatha Bible Chapel will host the learning pod and provide reliable Wi-Fi. Staff will provide supervision and tech support while students learn remotely from Horseheads teachers.

 

  1. Students must be well-behaved. Significant behavioral issues will not be tolerated and may be grounds for separation.

 

  1. Students should bring a learning device (laptop, tablet) and charging cables, and headphones along with lunch and a water bottle. Parents provide transportation.

 

  1. Updated vaccination records are required. A nurse will not be on staff, so no medications can be given to students at this time.

 

  1. There will be a daily temperature check and health screening. Students must bring and wear masks at all times when away from their personal work station area. They will be socially distanced when at their work station.

 

  1. Families must agree to a social distancing honor code, and commit to following local and state health guidelines. The learning pod requires trust and cooperation.

 

  1. Slots will be filled on a first-registered, first-served basis.
