Why Kidztown?
Since Maranatha began, children have played an
important part of the church. However, we felt it was the right time
to put a major emphasis on our children and the ministries we
provide for them. Creating the names adds to the excitement.
Why did you
decide to change curriculum?
We were
basically using two different types of curriculum which made it
difficult to have any type of cohesive Bible study that would help
kids remember what they read or heard. Now your children ages
3-grade 5 will all be learning about the same Bible stories and
moral values with one scripture verse a month to not only memorize
but hide in their hearts.
What is the
new curriculum?
It is from
The reThink Group which partners with churches and helps them
partner with parents in and equip our teachers with innovative
resources for both the church and home.
What happened
to the Nursery?
The nursery
program has been totally revamped to now include more interaction
and exciting stories, games, and music for the 3-5 year olds as well
as some parts of the program will be enjoyed by our babies and young
toddlers.
How are the
program ages broken down?
We will now
have The Pond for ages 0-36 months with activities. The Backyard is
for ages 3-K. Power Station is for ages 3 through Grade 5.
What if my
child is two? Can they come to The Backyard?
Not until they have turned 3. We will, however, have
some parts of The Backyard that we will bring the younger ones out
to enjoy whenever possible.
What happened
to Children’s Church?
This program has been completely redesigned and is
now called The Adventure Zone for Grades 1-5. This program is high
energy, lots of drama, music, and fun.
Why is there
no C.O.M.E.T. Club or HIS Kids?
Because now
our main focus of ministry is during our Sunday morning. We want
families to use their evenings and mid-week to build strong family
units as well as relationships with those around them. Become
involved in your communities and invite people to Sunday morning
worship. Our volunteers now can serve Sunday morning in a ministry
as well as worship with their guests.
What can I do
to help?
Pray for our
ministry and its workers. If you have not already signed up to be a
part of this exciting ministry, please consider doing so. This
program requires many workers, but we feel our children are
important and using these exciting resources to bring them closer to
God is time well-spent.
