Money Talks - February 28 - March 28     6:00pm - 7:30pm

Money is a sticky subject. No one likes talking about it, much less figuring out how they can be better with it. But if you think you have ever had issues with money, you should meet the Penders. While money is a part of all of our lives—the struggles of how much is enough, what to give, when to give, when does need become want—to the Pender family, money is everything.

You are about to embark on a five-week study of stewardship. You're probably thinking, What does stewardship even mean, and why would I want to get better at it? Basically stewardship is all about how we use the resources we've been given. (A little tip: it should usually be opposite of the way the Penders use it!) Money Talks reviews four passages from Christ's teaching about the relationship between giving and God (The Parable of the Barns, The Parable of the Shrewd Manager, The Parable of the Talents, The Rich Young Ruler), as well as Paul's thoughts on the beauty of giving (2 Corinthians 9).

These biblical passages are paralleled by a comedy (yes, a comedy) about a dysfunctional Orange County, California, family's struggles with their unending wealth and ever-elusive happiness. Shot in the "mockumentary" style, which has elevated such shows and films as "The Office" or "Best in Show," Money Talks gives us a chance to take a lighthearted look at one of the more difficult issues in our faith: stewardship.
